Luca Betleone heads up the Betfather team, a veteran of the gambling scene. He is the self-appointed Editor-In-Chief of the operation and does not suffer fools gladly. Luca is often to be seen peering over the top of his glasses in exasperation at his colleagues.
A man of few words, he is sometimes referred to as “The Don”. His favourite saying is that “The world belongs to a patient man”. You will not find Luca delving through handicap races in the hope of finding a winning long shot. He tends to focus on the “sure things”, and by that he does not only mean death and taxes. He bets only in stakes races and believes that all sports should be held on a level playing field. You are unlikely to get rich overnight by following his selections but it usually pays to sit up and take notice.
The Betfather is a great believer in class and he follows pedigree and form. His summer social calendar revolves around the Epsom Derby and Royal Ascot. He only has time for winners and believes that sport is about Champions. He regards 1970 Triple Crown winner Nijinsky as the greatest horse ever to have graced this earth and his sporting hero is Rocky Marciano.
